can you recommend some face cleaning products? thanks! budget around £75

That's all really. I wear mosturizer and makeup from Lancome and Clinique. I have good skin and almost never clean my face other than with shower soap but recently i got some black spots, so i'd like to buy cleaning and toner (dont know if this is t,he right name).

I would prefer cleaning wipes rather than lotion. Are they good?

Great cleansers...

Emma Hardie moringa balm
Rodial glamtox
Ren (any depending on skin but clear calm is ace)
Boots botanics and Clinique take the day off balm very good but I haven't tried either.

Most importantly...massage onto dry (dirty, make up including waterproof eye, sunscreen, oily) face well and take off with a CLEAN hand hot flannel. Keep flannel rinsed in running water and keep wiping til clean. Repeat twice (yes it sound like a ballache, it isn't, and will give super results)

Then...

Clarins exfoliating toner, amazing amazing stuff honestly.

You will see definite results within about a week/ten days.

After a month or so you'll think ah this is a faff its not worth it. Within a week your skin will look duller and you will go back to the above method.

(In the time it's taken to write this 4 other people will have replied with variations of the same, betcha!!)

Rodial glamtox is a bargain at the moment on qvc 100ml for about 25 including postage I think.

Clarins is on gift with purchase at debenhams. So buy two and get a freebie of bits. £25 each (it does last longer than you'd expect)

So dead on £75 for the rodial and 2 clarins and a freebie!!!

The only thing I can add is double cleansing makes my skin great. I use a micellar water to remove eye makeup and foundation, then I can work the cleansing balm into my skin so it gets to my skin and not the makeup. Again I second the flannel wrung out in hand hot water

Off the top of my head space nk stock all as do qvc (and they offer a 30 day no questions money back guarantee so are very popular for skincare as you can return if you've used but don't like)

Ren is stocked by John Lewis (larger ones anyway)

For flannels, i buy from primark to be honest. A pack of five is £2 and I use a clean one everyday and wash them in a hot wash towel load. I do wear a fair bit of make up and therefore they get grotty after a while but I recycle them as kitchen clothes and dusters and buy more. A flannel is a hand sized cloth made from towelling, flat that you just wet and wipe away the cleanser with.

The Clinique take the day off balm cleanser is a good one to try I'm told and it will be available at John Lewis but I do think emma Hardie or the rodial are worth ordering. Qvc and space nk (qvc always cheaper ime) deliver within 3 or so days.

This will make a massive difference to your skin I'd imagine. Would love to see it. Think you'll be impressed that it feels smoother too as will take off the top dead skin cells.

One thing to think about tho is you may need to adjust the amount of moisturiser you use. It won't need to penetrate the dead skin so your usual amount may feel too much.

I've used the expensive sort- detailed above- and the cheapest.
In all honesty I can't see much difference.
I've used REN @ £18 a go, and Boots own 'cucumber' ( and others in the range) for £1.20.
They all remove make up and leave your skin clean.

I've used L'Oreal for a while- Age Perfect- and now changed to their micellular water /cleanser which removes eye make up as well- it's around £5.

The trick is to remove all cleanser- I use warm water- and a gentle exfoliator now and then.

I do agree it seems a lot of money but I have definitely seen better results from the ones I've listed. I am 31 and have in some ways abused my skin in the past and am now fastidious about it. My skin looks much better now than it did in my twenties and even teens. Honestly.

Eve lom also good but for some reason I preferred the morning time cleanser version rather than the original. I had had three tubes of that before the Emma Hardie and ren clear calm combo I am now using and wouldn't go back now.

I suppose this is why I am so pro-qvc, if it doesn't suit or doesn't live up to another cleanser (or whatever) I do return them within the 30 days. So yes I do spend on my skin but only on what I genuinely think gives me results.

I spend on the things I wear most often...my skin and hair. I can save on the other stuff that only gets worn once a week or so!!

I didnt like the morning version of the EL cleanser. I use the EL as a treat and use LE cleanser everday.

I have never got on with liz Earle. They definitely use something in c and p that I don't tolerate and usually I'm not that sensitive. Strange eh?! Love their body products tho

Nee its hard to say what kind of skin type I have for various reasons however for me the morning stuff just didnt feel the same

IMO,not wipes.if you like cloth try liz Earle cleanse with cloth
Toner,try samples depends if your skin can tolerate alcohol
Good toners are Clarins,Clinique.
Good cleansers are take if day balm,Clinique. Lancôme cleansing milk

hate hate LE! sorry- hate the smell and hate the thick texture which drags your skin when you apply and remove. Horrid and over rated IMHO,

See I'm in a minority on here as I don't like using flannels - I find them too harsh on my skin as I get little thread veins around my nose. Think the combo of heat and scrubbing isn't good for my skin. I know you're meant to use a light muslin cloth and scrub gently, one little area in circular motions or some such, but meh I never got the hang of it or my skin didn't like it.

An alternative would be my fave Shu Uemura cleansing oil, double cleanse with that - it's one you massage into dry dirty skin and rinse off. I just splash off using warm running water and something to do with the way the oil emulsifies with the water means my skin is lovely and clean and super soft. Follow with Shu Uemura moisturising lotion which is actually an exfoliating toner which also has hyaluronic acid to plump the skin. These two products used morning and night transformed my skin. Can't afford them atm but if I had ££ I would buy them again in a heartbeat. For day I followed with a No7 moisturiser - the Beautiful Skin one for very dry skin, and at night Neal's Yard Rose Facial oil, which combined with the lotion was just lovely. I miss those products with an emotional pull

Toner is for nothing except making money for the companies.

I've researched this and read loads of info by consultant dermos who say this.

No product can 'shrink pores' that's bollocks:) Using something with alcohol in it makes your skin tight temporarily giving the appearance of smaller pores but long tern it will dry out your skin.

Black heads are sebum- grease in blocked pores. You can remove them by steaming your face and very gently squeezing ( very gently) or by using gentle facial scrubs.
