Is it possible to wear good quality sweatshirts without looking like you've borrowed your DCs clothes?

Gap?

fridayfreedom · 02/08/2013 20:43

Do not wear Jack Willies if you are over 14!!

I have that in grey and coral.

My dd reckons she is too old now for JW and she is 16. It seems to be mostly 12-15 year olds that wear it here. I think you are better off wearing tops without logos on them if you don't want to look like your daughter.

i have a collection of american apparel sweatshirts, they look good.

\link{http://store.americanapparel.co.uk/product/?productId=br394\these are especially nice}

InMyShreddies · 02/08/2013 21:11

Try Hush

LadyMilfordHaven · 02/08/2013 21:25

i dont see the point for sweatshirts

mystaplerisevil · 02/08/2013 21:31

i live in them lady mitford. am a lover of 80s utility clothing though. i get excited when i see sweatshirts.

LynetteScavo · 02/08/2013 21:34

LadyMilfordHaven jumpers fall apart to quickly. Sweatshirts are really comfy, and warm and last forever. Anything knitted ends up falling apart.

I have a zillion gap hoodies, because they last forever, but I want a new sweatshirt. Confused

I am very tempted to get a couple of those Merino v-necks, SundaySimmons but they aren't sweatshirts.

\link{http://store.americanapparel.co.uk/product/?productId=5454w\these are also pretty nice} sweatshirts

you can't really meet american apparel for basics

WoolySocks · 02/08/2013 21:49

Another vote for Gap and American Apparel. Also, Uniqlo sometimes have nice stuff, particularly in Autumn/Winter.

LadyMilfordHaven · 02/08/2013 21:50

lynette

just no

mystaplerisevil · 02/08/2013 21:58

some people just can't carry off the plain utilitarian look

they should stick to the failsafe boden Wink

mumblechum1 · 02/08/2013 21:59

God not beige sweatshirts. Are you ready to give up and die?????????????????

awaynboilyurheid · 02/08/2013 22:20

Some bits from Joules , nice stripey sweatshirts are good for classic leisure wear and next do casual tops and dare I say it on here but the new A.W. range at Marks looks good some nice casual jumpers when I was in this week but just not the per uno range .

LynetteScavo · 02/08/2013 22:24

I need to achieve the just got out of bed look, but look like I look really good when I get out of bed...I will have put touche eclet under my eyes, and thrown on a navy (not beige!) sweatshirt...just in case someone sees me popping to the shop early on a Saturday morning.

If I put on a jumper, it would then look like I was supposed to be ready for the day.

snowlie · 03/08/2013 07:24

Toast has some nice sweatshirts, joules are a bit too Tory wife.

Levantine · 03/08/2013 07:26

Uniqlo

LynetteScavo · 03/08/2013 21:05

Yes, but I'm not there quite yet, LadyMilfordHaven.
I think the uniqlo is my best bet (I like their prices).

How about Abercrombie? What kind of person wears their clothes?

Sweaty Betty sometimes do really gorgeous sweatshirts, and I say that as someone who thinks sweatshirts are for sweating in, i.e. during exercise.

playftseforme · 03/08/2013 21:31

Superdry? Types nervously waiting to be told far too old, while sitting here in one of their hoodies....
