They are an odd thing, arent they? EVeryone ends up looking like stunted swans in them.
I am not quite sure why they are so much worse on than black ones, perhaps its the pyjama thing..

Do you have white leggings? DO you feel like a swan in them?

God no - horrific.

I wore a pair of these last week, and I thought I was totes amazeballs!
But I fear I wasn't really!

I had a long tunic over them btw, not just looking like an American footballer.

Do you know, even my pretty sweet 4 year old DD can't make them work. So it's a no from me.

Ujjayi · 02/08/2013 19:41

Absolutely no from me too. Wore them in 1987 with a turquoise & white striped slouchy top.....with either white espadrilles or white stilettos....whilst sipping on a Pernod & black......nuff said!

They are ok if the bits on show are entirely bump and lump free. But they are very unforgiving.

Where black will 'smooth' out lumps and bumps by sucking up light or placing them in the shadows a bit white bounces the light back of every curve and dimple.

I saw a woman wearing some today with a short top and she was about a size 20 with cellulite from waist to ankle. It didn't look good to this beholder's eye but as long as she was happy.

I did have white trousers (still in the bottom of the wardrobe hactually) but I was size ten and looked fabulous in them. Shame I don't have any photos so I can remind myself how fab I looked.

LadyMilfordHaven · 02/08/2013 19:41

waffly I am sure you STILL look nice.

Maybe I could take a picture of me in my smalls sweating and panting trying to haul those size10 white trousers past my knees! Grin

At the time I probably thought I looked a bit fat. Actually I mustn't have or I would never have bought them.

LadyMilfordHaven · 02/08/2013 21:52

what happened then?

they were never cool, though i had some pale cream long john type leggins that i wore in 1990 with a black vest and black jacket and high heels and i looked the bees knees

i did work in advertising though where that was an acceptable look back then
