Where do your 35-40ish men buy their clothes?

DP usually does his best to avoid any kind of clothes shopping but now that his 20 year old t-shirts are literally disintegrating he has agreed to buy some new things

Mid-range budget, not Primark but not Boden. He works at home in a creative role so isn't super smart or in suits but I don't want him to look like a tramp or an overgrown skater boy either.

Any ideas?

Dh buys his clothes from Uniqlo and Gap with a few t-shirts with bike logos from bike shops. He is not a keen shopper and only goes when he has to.

Dp orders t-shirts online and mostly buys trousers/shorts, shirts and jumpers in debenhams and house of fraser. I've told him he's not old enough for M&S clothes yet!

Dp is so boring. He buys whichever mid-wash, straight leg jeans are on offer in either M&S or Debenhams, or shorts from outdoorsy type places, and pairs them with plain t-shirts from Millets or Debenhams, and plain v neck cotton jumpers from M&S. For, 'dressing up' he wears plain black trousers, or chinos and a shirt (usually M&S or Ben Sherman). He's 45.

Thanks I hadn't thought of Gap. I was thinking too old for H&M, not quite old enough for M&S

Watching for ideas. DH suggested he need some style advice, so some shopping trips are planned for here too.
Currently he shops fat face.

Always diesel jeans great fit and wash up really nicely.

Day to day wear Ralph Lauren polo shirts expensive but last really well. Gant rugby shirts are nice for winter

Buys quite a bit in Ted Baker which is nice quality and not too pricey.

All saints do some nice bits and pieces although can be a but young.

For going out stuff tends to be the same shops but smarter range, with the odd luxury ''treat' thrown in.

Fat Face and Gap for every day. Ted Baker when he's feeling more flush.

John Lewis is good too as they have lots of different brands.

TK Maxx usually.
He finds it useful have like with like (ie if he wants a t-shirt they are all on the same rack, same size)

He likes to pop into Zara occasionally and try to work out where the line between the women's and men's section sits. He was very confused once because the men's contained pink jumpers... Bless him.
He's got a couple of DKNY and Paul Smith shirts that were gifts; he's not really a designer-wear buyer.

Uniqlo, Gap and TKMaxx pretty much exclusively.

DP is 46. Hates shopping for clothes, thinks its a waste of money etc. when he is desperate he buys at Gap and Debenhams. He has finally realised that if he is buying basics, he should buy multiples of the same items. Tbf, he only buys basics .

My DP looks like an overgrown skater boy...

TKMaxx here too. They always have nice casual shirts and great jeans.

DP just saw me looking at the Fat Face website and said it looks too trendy

DH is 43 - Uniqlo, Original Penguin, Ted Baker, Gap, Boden (very occasionally), Massimo Dutti

Fat Face and Gap mainly.

Dh is 39 and buys predominantly in Ted Baker - there is an outlet very near my parents and he stocks up about 2 a year on jeans, shirts, jumpers, t-shirts, hoodies etc

Also GAP, Zara, French Connection. He is not 'trendy' but works in a very creative field so he goes for a more classic look in those shops.

Fat Face, Gap, although he would shop at Fred Perry if we were flush. He hates shopping but he does love it when we visit the outlet down in Ashford.

He is a detective so non-uniform which means he can wear jeans and tshirts/shirts, and he goes for the classic, non-hugeinyourface logo tshirts.

Agree with others, start him off in Debenhams and John Lewis, and then move on to smaller shops once you find stuff you both like.

I'm 44, jeans have to be Levi's, then usually berghaus boots and whatever t-shirt du jour is.

Mainly I buy online.

TK Maxx, Super Dry, ASOS, H&M....
