i wear a 5 normally and have a slightly wider than average foot

i would like some birkenstocks

The advice is to go one size smaller. I have the widest feet ever and I am fine with the regular fitting. Can't help on the thong front afraid.

hulababy · 11/06/2006 20:07

I am normally a size 4 and got size 3.5 int he narrow style. I think if buying again I will get a 3 though, as a little big at the back. Luckily not too much.

tribpot · 11/06/2006 20:07

I thought the advice was to go one size bigger - will try and check this out. A friend of mine works for Birkenstocks but she's on holiday right now.

katzg · 11/06/2006 20:10

i was secretly thinking of buying 2 pairs shhhhhh don't tell my hubby!

one pair of thongs and one pair of the multistrap ones

oh next daft question what size is a 5? a 38? therefore do i get a 37?

OP posts:
hulababy · 11/06/2006 20:11

They'd be huge one size larger! I am a 4 and need a 3; my mum is a 5.5-6 and got a 5.

hulababy · 11/06/2006 20:12

3.5 is 36

Isn't there a size converter on the website?

hulababy · 11/06/2006 20:12

tribpot · 11/06/2006 20:14

\link{http://www.birkenstock.co.uk/index.php?m=catalogue&a=sizing\Some info about sizing} - I think you can send them an outline of your foot and they will work out the size for you?

katzg · 11/06/2006 20:15

so i'm a 4.5 - 5 so i guess the 37, might just go into town and try some on!

hula -
how narrow are your feet? have never been anywhere where they sell narrow but i was worried i might need narrow as i always used to be fairly narrow, but i seem to be fine in the regulars.... when I looked at that link just now I went and tried one of my pairs on to check there was no slippage side to side and it seemed ok. how odd... i really thought i was more narrow, but not narrow enough to be causing damage wearing these....

make sense?

hulababy · 11/06/2006 20:23

Not massively narrow. I always thought they were quite normal, but just small. But the size 3.5 regular was like a boat on me. Really do recommend trying them on first if not sure.

Yes Katz - In Orchard Square.

katzg · 11/06/2006 20:24
