Not exactly style, but I am looking for a boy's coat for school, like the land's end squall or similar but preferably a bit cheaper - it is about £50. Best one i have had recently has been from H and M which lasted two years, was a great fit - quite slim, warm but not too bulky. Ideally needs to be waterproof and warm, it rains a lot here. For age 9.

hi, was going to say great plains 3-in 1 coat, but they are similar in price to landsend I think.
when DS was 8-11 years old I found good quality coats at Debenhams.
or good old regatta ?

John Lewis do a really good waterproof one - has a zip out fleece lining.

thanks, will check them out, we need to get thick coats from the start of term here, not leaving it till the winter comes!

Ds always has the Boden fleece lined anorak for winter. They are £40 and usually last him two years.

Was going to say Lands End - they had a down filled waterproof coat with grow to fit sleeves, so it will last a few years, on sale last year for £80, sign up for their marketing and you'll eventually get a 25% off code.

We usually get a Gap Warmest coat - they are about £45-50 from memory though (I don't mind so much as I can pass them down) but my friend got one for under a tenner on eBay and it was like new.
