Summer skincare when you're a sweaty betty

Hi all,

I've always struggled to find skincare that suited me. I have skin that alternates between oily and mega dry plus spot prone whilst also ageing! A few years back I found Lush Enzymion and that has sorted me out a treat. Except for when its hot, sticky, cloying weather.

I'm getting married in 3 weeks and I'm either greasy and spotty with normal skincare or skipping the moisturising side, being less greasy but still covered in spots.

Anyone got any idea what I can use whilst its still all muggy that will keep the spots at bay whilst also not over drying my skin and not making me feel like I could fry an egg on my face?

Have you tried using a warm muslin cloth to rinse with?

I have been using anti bacterial hand wash! The stuff you use without water. I wash my face, pat dry then apply the anti bacterial hand wash then I use Prolagene Gel. I then moisturise using whichever moisturiser I choose from an assortment!

Oil-free products, such as Illamasqua hydra veil (it's a moisturising primer - I have oily skin and use it on its own), Clinique anti-blemish moisturiser (step 3 in the anti-blemish 3-step system, can be used alone or with the cleanser and toner) and similar products.
You can use the moisturiser on the areas that need it.

I really like the Clinique City Block SPF25, which apparently "helps wick away perspiration and absorb excess oil." according to the Clinique website. I personally think it helps a bit.

A good sweat-proof foundation is key too - I like Estee Lauder Double Wear Light. It's light to medium coverage, but it lasts all day (even in 35 degrees heat) and it does keep my oily skin looking good and not too greasy (and I just need to powder the T-zone in the morning).
With other foundations, I tend to have to touch up during the day.
And use a good concealer on the areas that need it.

A good primer could help with the oily skin, such as the secret finish mattifying from Laura Mercier. You can use it on top of the makeup for touch-ups as well.

Lisa Eldridge has recently put up a video on her website and youtube channel about makeup in the heat. You might be able to find some tips there too.

And congrats on the wedding!

I'll definitely look those videos up, as I'm fairly useless with summer make up too!
