Barry M "Turn My Lips Pink" (green lipstick) - anyone tried this?

As above, really - I'm after a flattering but cheap pink lipstick. Read some reviews of the Barry M Lipstick that's green in the tube but turns pink with the PH of your lips. Apparently it goes a different shade on each person so it adapts to your tones. Sounds gimmicky but plenty of blogs say this is true. Any MN-ers tried it?

I think I tried it about a million years ago.
It looked hideous on me, but I'm not a big lipstick wearer.

Yes, I remember this gimmick a good long time ago. It was pretty bad then, but hopefully better now!

Thanks both, I fear this may not be the answer to my quest for the perfect pink after all. Thought it sounded too good and easy to be true!

Not the Barry M one but years ago (I'm talking early 1980s) there was a colour change one that was meant to go to your perfect shade.
Mine went Barbara Cartland dress pink.
It was soooo not a good look Hmm

Smashbox do one, it's o glow I think, more like a gloss tho than a lipstick but turns your perfect shade of pink.

It was UltraGlow - once it was on it was pretty well bombproof.
I think it needed an oil based remover to get it off.
Imagine- vile colour and immoveable.

Nyx do lots of pink shades and are inexpensive.

lizandlulu · 30/07/2013 22:42

Smashbox is o gloss

I still have a tube of colour change lippy from about 1984! It was yellow then changed to peachy pink on your lips. A reaction to the heat of your lips, I think?? Might have to buy some barry m modern version for a comparison.

maybelline do lots of different pink shades. or revlon do one called true pink or similar.

the benefit one that you brush on your lips (have trial size, cannot remember name offhand) is VERY pink. think you can use it on cheeks too.

Is that still around? It was my first lipstick when I was 11. It was shit then, maybe it's improved.

pricey, but the Dior colour lip glow balm does this. It's very popular
