How can I disguise my dark roots / very blonde hair

hi guys
i have very blonde hair - just at shoulder length and now have about an inch of dark roots showing - brown hair. The roots look terrible and i dont have time or money to go to my hairdressers yet - are there any tricks in disguising them until i can get to the hairdressers? i cant home dye it as my hair gets ruined by them. Any tips will be much appreciated. I am seeing some old friends at the weekend and don't want to look terrible! S.O.S!

Could you try making your parting not straight but more of a criss cross?

O r what about a nice chic scarf ties round?

Batiste dry shampoo do a blonde one, it is really good at lightening the roots.

thanks folks. The chic scarf sounds fab but don't think I am cool enough to carry that off. Dry shampoo sounds fab. Might do all 3!

I had this whilst growing mine out to a less noticeable level (then had low lights and a few highlights across t-section to break up blonde). Try a pinning back fringe in a sort of quiff at the front, or a wide headband. Zig zag partings work well too (along with some volume/backcombing - flat hair makes it even more obvious).
