I have my usual extra blonde hair dye.....thought this time I would try a more natural shade. But now done, I'm not happy, wish I had stuck to usual one!! Going away in 10 days and would like to dye again with my usual lighter shade (not a huge diff, but I notice! ) is it safe to do so?! In about a week time....so only one week after being dyed?

If you're going on a beach holiday, I wouldn't advise that. Boxed blondes use very strong peroxide; it will weaken your hair, which will then be further attacked by sun, sand and sea. Also, if you're going to be outdoors a lot, the sun will bleach your hair colour so your efforts will be wasted. And boxed colours can't take a previous shade away, only lighten and tone it.

What's wrong with the shade you used? If you're still a level 8, 9 or 10 blonde, you can make it look paler by using a blue or violet based temporary or semi-permanent toner. However, if the sun's going to be shining on your head this holiday, I think you should stick with violet-based shampoo & conditioner to tone down any brassiness & keep your blonde looking expensive. John Frieda's Sheer Blonde Tone Correcting products are good. I think all the professional ranges do them, too, if you want to spend more.

Have a good time!
