Customising childrens clothes

does anyone do this?
ive been thinking of doing it for a while but wouldnt know where to start lol!

I do it with both dd and my clothes, it started with a dress that she loved that was two short so i added a Lace trim to it. Then she had a tiny tots disco so I embroidered some jeans for her.

I now add embelishment and later stuff all the time, quicker result than making something from scratch and as satisfying.

have sewn badges/motifs etc over stains on favourite tops, embroidered jeans to cover a patch where I'd burnt a hole in them, also used ribbon to cover marks where hems of dresses, jeans etc have been let down... so functional embellishment rather than decorative!
