My skin has recently got mega oily.

I use an exfoliating face scrub and a cleansing lotion twice a day but the skin around my nose and cheeks gets really oily really quickly and its starting to stress me out!

Any tips on how to control the oil? Any product recommendations?

There are some household tips that will really help you in taking care of your oily skin. Concentrate on the diet avoid oily foodstuff and junk food they contribute in making your skin oily. Wash your face with clean water at least 3 to 4 times a day. Use the combination of lemon juice and glycerine early in the morning to wash your face. If using moisturizers then try to use oil free moisturizers like Dermasome or Dermasome Gold. These really helps in taking care of your skin.

First of all you need to completely change your cleansing routine: stop using the grainy exfoliators as they will over stimulate your skin and cause more oiliness. Try either cold pressed coconut oil or Emma Hardie cleansing balm, depending on your budget. You massage the oils in with clean dry hands and then use a hot flannel to remove the oil. You can follow up with a non foaming gel cleanser or alternate the two.

Don't use anything foaming as that will strip your skin of natural oils, and again your skin will over compensate for the loss of oil by producing more oil (or sebum).

Something like a Clarins lotus oil at night will really help balance the oiliness too. But to start with just changing your cleansing routine and see if that helps.
