Sunscreen, have I wasted my gift card?

Couldn't get my usual Clinique factor 50 so I went for their Super City Block, SPF 40, but now I'm wondering if I've made a mistake.

What do you think?

TIA

I've used it and didn't tan.

Will you be using it for just the face? tbh theres not much evidence that anything over spf 30 offers that much protection but the spf 40 city block has higher antioxidant levels iirc.

Thanks Fluffy just for my face. I know what they say about the difference but I find here that I burn, as in sever skin peeling and blistering, with a factor 30 but not with the factor 50. I normally get away with 30 in the winter but we're having a very mild one with more sun than previous years.

Do you put it on after moisturising? that's meant to be a no-no with sunscreens.

Can you take it back if you burn? or is it different over there?

I use it after a moisturiser, yes, didn't know it made a difference tbh. I'll see how it goes but in my experience over here they only change it if unopened. Not much good if you've opened it and found it be no good.
