A challenge: I'm going to give you a rubbish description of a dress

... I fell in love with on a woman across the road today.

The easy bits:

  • navy jersey
  • knee length

Not so easy:

  • it had some unusual draping going on. It looked as though the bottom of the front of the dress had been picked up and knotted at the bustline. The hem was straight though, so I think that there must have been masses of extra material to allow for the bit tied to the bustline.

It looked very cool and modern but easy to wear.

Googling navy jersey knot dress has got me NOWHERE. I need to call in the big guns....

Picture now on my profile page, fingers crossed.

It's not assymetric, the draping runs from the centre of the bottom hem.

Why didn't I just ask her?!?!

I can't click on your profile.

KingJoffrey · 25/07/2013 23:52

Ooh I have a dress like that! (Unhelpful) it had a floral print and was from River Island.

MrsNoodleHead · 25/07/2013 23:54

KingJoffrey, can you see my profile?

KingJoffrey · 25/07/2013 23:55

Yes I know what you mean now. To google!

Twirlyhot · 25/07/2013 23:56

Something like this but blue? It could be an old dress.

LaurieFairyCake · 25/07/2013 23:56

Phase eight have frocks like that

angeltulips · 25/07/2013 23:58

I have a couple of cos dresses like that - try there?

MrsNoodleHead · 25/07/2013 23:59

Ah, Twirlyhot, yes - that kind of thing. Well done! The jersey looked lovely and heavy though.

Like this one? it's a maternity one which I like

If it is like this - will link a couple I've seen on eBay which are similar but not maternity ( and also not £139!)

Chocolateteabag · 26/07/2013 00:02

Also a maternity dress in blue red or black but £65

MrsNoodleHead · 26/07/2013 00:03

Sorry, nothing doing in Cos or P8...

KnittedWaffle · 26/07/2013 00:03

I was thinking phase eight too. I had a look earlier though and couldn't find anything. Off to look again.

Chocolateteabag · 26/07/2013 00:04

This is the one I saw on ebay

MrsNoodleHead · 26/07/2013 00:04

Nope, sorry Chocolate Teabag, thanks for looking though.

Twirlyhot · 26/07/2013 00:37

Didn't work. Third dress down but very old link

KnittedWaffle · 26/07/2013 00:48

Dorothy Perkins no up to date link though

tiredteddy · 26/07/2013 00:52

The dresses you can tie in different ways are "twobirds" dresses I think.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 26/07/2013 12:05

I have one in red, got it a couple of years ago from Bon Prix.

mysteryfairy · 26/07/2013 12:28

all saints?

InMyShreddies · 26/07/2013 12:44

It could be the Butter by Nadia wrap dress, that's convertible into lots of different shapes.

Vibbe · 26/07/2013 13:48

Could it be the Emami dress? It's one of those dresses that can be worn in several ways.
You'll find loads of pictures of it on google.
