Do you wear suntan lotion in a tanning studio?

I pass this solarium on the way back from dropping off dd every day. Thinking I will try it out and get some colour on my pins. Do you wear UV-protection of some kind on those sunbeds? Does anyone know?

No don't think so but they do sell creams in these places to tan quicker.

I agree, don't do it!! Fake it instead, go and get sprayed if you can afford it. Smile

I agree don't do it..the harm you cause you probably won't know till years later..by then your tan will have faded as well..Go and fake it.

Never tried fake tan. Sure I wouldn't do a really bad job of it. Never heard of getting yourself sprayed either. I must be really behind the times!

I wouldn't bother with the solarium, tbh.

But if you decide to go then NO you don't wear suncream (what would be the point?!).

St Tropez do a good spray tan, but it doesn't last v long (5-10 days, depending on whether or nbot you exfoliate and how quickly you body regenerates skin cells) and is pretty pricey. I bought some of the Johnsons Holiday Skin and I have to say I think it's quite good. You put it on daily and it builds colour slowly. Very subtle, so you don't end up looking like you've been tangoed after one application. I do always exfoliate well (esp knees, ankles, heels, elbows etc), then slap on a thick layer of normal moisturiser, let it sink in and then apply the Johnsons. You wouldn't have to do that though because technically the Johnsons stuff is a body lotion, but I find it gives a better result.

No they tell you specifically not to.
