Find me a nice hairstyle/cut for growing-out hair

I am currently recovering from a layered ear length bob that I had done 3 years ago when I thought a haircut was all I needed to look like Frankie Sandford from the Saturdays.

I now have hair that just touches my bra hooks, and my shortest layer is just past my ear lobes. I have a blunt fringe, which I love and suits me lots- so I think it'll always be there!

My dream hair is like Malin Akerman in Watchmen. Long long long with a super blunt fringe. I'll be there in about another 2 years I think, but the rest of my hair apart from my fringe is getting me down.

I try and get a cut every six weeks to keep it in good condition, but even when the dead ends are cut off- it just looks like a mid-length flicky mess that tangles easily despite my hair being dead straight.

I need a hairstyle with a bit more structure, that looks neater and smart. I'm off to the hairdressers on Saturday and am prepared to sacrifice an inch of length for something a bit smarter.

In my head I picture a longer (inch above bra hooks at shortest!) Cleopatra hairstyle with super blunt ends and fringe, and blended layers to make it almost wig-like, and less flicky and messy. But I can't find any pictures and I'm terrible at explaining things to the hairdresser.

Does someone know of a celebrity who has had a similar hairstyle so I can realise my sleek hair dream throughout this straggly growing out stage? Or maybe throw me a curveball and show me something completely different bus just as appropriate!
