First nursery friend party outfit help!

Dd, 3, has had her first invite to a birthday party, I am taking a day off work to take her but am already stressing over what to wear to give the right impression to the other parents!

Basically she goes to a nursery in a not too well off area, I like to dress nicely but as a single mum who does not have many mum friends I would like to create the right first impression to gain friendships in the area.

Any advice on what is acceptable for a daytime children's party at the birthday girls' house?

Whatever the hell you like. What you wear isn't going to determine whether other mums befriend you or not. Go along be chatty and nice to the other mums and no-one will notice what you are wearing. Unless of course you are in hot pants, neon cropped vest top and biker boots. Just saying.

Something casual but not scruffy. Leggings and tunic, jeans and vest etc

OP don't stress about this. Certainly no one I know especially dresses up for children's parties. What do you normally wear? I'd probably be in jeans and a reasonable top or in this hot weather a casual summer dress.

Hope you and your dd have fun!

I am a mens' vest and hotpant wearer when doing casual normally.

I know it sounds trivial, I am just very nervous!

As everyone else says normal clothes

fated whatever you wear isn't it best to be yourself?

Even if you wear then 'right' thing to the party then you won't be dressing like that next time you see them.

Just be yourself and enjoy.
