Leggings - how do you wear yours?

If indeed you wear them.

Only with a longish top? Can you wear them with a shorter top if you are slim and they are opaque? Get the feeling that no matter what your size, you are "meant" to keep your bum covered - certainly get that feeling from females - maybe not males lol - the only leggings that seem to be acceptable without a long top are workout pants or if you are 16.

Opinions anyone?

I wear leggings with skater dresses.

I'm wearing them now with a leopard print skater dress.

Only with long tops, tunics or short dresses. I love leggings but it can be a pain finding things to wear with them.

My 11 yo DD wears the Primark ones with a crop top and shorts (sometimes just leggings but I make sure there's no VPL / dark coloured pants)

I wear old fogey M&S with the wider waistband but with a long tunic (and very decent underwear)

DD can get away with alot, being tall, size 6 and young ( much)

So it is an age thing not a size thing? A 30 year old size 8 must wear a long top?

Long top or short dress. I am a firm believer that no one should wear them as trousers (i.e. showing bum), regardless of age or size. Treat them as tights not trousers, people!

Yes definitely a long top that covers your bum.

Legoland yesterday there were lots of teens of all shapes and sizes and not one looked good in leggings with a short or cropped top.

In bed (as Pyjamas)
instead of tights, eg under a short dress, shorts etc.
under jeans in winter.

Never ever ever as an item in their own right. I've yet to see a woman whose bum was flattered by leggings.
