Old nice quality shoes or cheap new ones for a wedding?

I'm on maternity leave so am a bit skint but managed to stretch to a new dress for a wedding I'm going to in a couple of weeks. It's this one in the Whistles sale:

I don't have much money left and so wondered if I can get away with my old trusty gold Mary Jane style shoes from Hobbs. I've had them several years and they definitely don't look new but they are still rather nice. Or would it be better to see if I could get some cheapo patent wedges or something similar to give the outfit a fresher look. Sorry, not the most important problem in the world I admit. I guess I'm wondering whether new/fresh trumps good quality but old?

Wear the old ones. Your feet will thank you at the end of the day.

Definitely the old shoes! They sound perfect and there's so much standing around at a wedding - the last thing you need is uncomfortable footwear. (Cheap and new is almost guaranteed to kill your feet if you're in them for hours.)

Do you have any accessories that could tie the outfit together?

Ah thanks - I guess that's what I was hoping you would say. Yes, I have a nice (subtle) gold handbag also from Hobbs that I bought at the same time as the shoes. Perhaps some of that overspending I did before I had kids was worth it afterall!

Old shoes get the vote from me too. Lovely dress!
