are the shops selling bras that have been made to the new way of measuring or the old ? I now think i am a 30c rather than a 34A but old style a 30 band would have been made to fit a 26 inch wouldnt it ?
so , are they now made differently or am i being a bit thick ?

Thrifty I think the received wisdom is that bras used to be made with material that was much less stretchy hence the add 4 rule. All bras are made with modern stretchy fabrics now so that no longer applies.

The bras which are available are (with a few exceptions like retro reproducers such as WhatKatyDid) are generally made to the new standards. When it changed, why or how nobody is entirely sure although the change to modern, stretchy fabrics is the most common culprit
