A friend gets married in 2 weeks and I have nothing to wear! The stand by dresses in the wardrobe don't fit anymore (shows how long since I went to a wedding!) Confused

Can you find something? :)
It needs to be £40 or under.
I'm 5 foot 2, size 8-10 with short legs. I tend towards tea dresses or 50s style/ full skirts rather than anything bodycon IYSWIM.

Panicking a little as have no chance to shop without the dc before then!

Oh and although its a church service the reception is at the village hall. So I don't think it need to be full on hat, heels etc. IYSWIM.

Hi Sudden,
Have you checked out Oasis dresses yet? Lots of pretty dresses that would suit your petite frame. What colours do you normally go for?

What about shoes and other accessories, would you need to get those also?

Suddengeekgirl · 22/07/2013 08:32

I've had a look/ looking now. Mostly they are a bit too fitted looking or a bit too short. I have a long body so don't gain anything on the leg length by being short IYSWIM.

I did see this cherry print wrap dress it might be worth a try do you think?

Ill keep looking. :)

this is brilliant IRL, should be able to grab a petticoat from ebay and still come in under budget. this is nice too and there are a few more eights in the sale too, I think.

Suddengeekgirl · 22/07/2013 08:41

I have some tan wedge heels that seem to go with everything so they're my safe bet. The dc will be with me so I won't need a bag for me as ill be carting around the changing bag for potty training dd. Tres stylish! Hmm

MrsLettuce - the first one looks good. :)
I like the second but I have rather large/ broad shoulders. I don't usually go for high/ straight necklines as my shoulders look a bit butch then! Confused

Off to google petticoats!

silverfox - I've had a brief look at tk max but nothing is jumping out at me. I think their website doesn't do the clothes any favours - everything looks pretty shapeless/ boxy IYSWIM.
I'll try and look properly at tk maxx once the dc are asleep - there's a lot to wade through! :)

I will have another wedding in February where dh is the best man. Do you think any of these dresses could do both weddings? (2different sets of friends)
I always feel a bit Blush buying something for a wedding and then need wearing it again. Confused

I was coming on to suggest Lady V too!-I have lots of their dresses and I love them. I have the ditsy print that Mrslettuce linked too and its lovely-get that one!

MrsLettuce · 22/07/2013 10:59

Sudden - I have broad shoulders too, the full skirt and petticoat balances them really well and gives a tiny waist.
