But I finally (I think) have the right size. Was in a 34B but have bitten the bullet and now I'm in a 34C. I think I was in a bit of denial as I'm quite small framed and don't particularly like bigger boobs on me. But Ye Gads, it's a helluva lot more comfortable Grin

Hi Shakey

That sound like a step in the right direction however, you mention that you have a small frame so I would query the 34 band. What do you measure under bust?

CelticPromise · 21/07/2013 14:13

What Sorrel said. I'm definitely not small framed by any standards and I wear a 30 back.

Shakey1500 · 21/07/2013 18:28

Hmmm. Now I'm confused! I measure 30 under bust (well, with a workmans rigidy tape measure thing).

M&S measured me as a 34C but tbh, the woman was a bit vague. As in she said well you might be a 34c is some styles and a 32d in another Hmm So I left and didn't buy anything. DH came home with a 34c and it felt really comfortable around the sides and back. Middle of the bra was flat between the breasts, though I did have to adjust the straps as I felt there was a bit of a gap at the top of the cups. It's a balcony style bra.

Does that sound right?

Ooh spooky! Just seen the tweeting M&S about wrong measurements thread.

Ignore M&S. They are hopeless along with most of the high street. They still add four inches to band size and don't know what a well fitting bra looks like!

CelticPromise · 21/07/2013 18:39

If you fasten the band back to front how far can you pull it away from your body?

inneedofrain · 21/07/2013 18:57

Shakey

I very very very much doubt you are a 34 band. I´m a 34band (more often a 32band) and there is NO way on gods earth anyone would ever call me "small framed" I have a big rib cage and I´m a size 14 ish if that helps as a comparison

NotAQueef · 21/07/2013 19:20

I bet you're a 30dd or 30e. What is your overbust measurement?

I too only have a rigid tape measure which is a nghtmare. What I found worked well was to use a piece of string etc to wrap around and then measure the string using the rigid tape measure

Sheshelob · 21/07/2013 19:27

OP I used to wear a 36A, but after help from the MN bra gods, I plucked up the courage to get myself to Bravissimo for a fitting. I am now the proud owner of two 30E bras. Only when wearing the right size did I realise my old bras were as supportive as flaccid bunting.

It's made such a difference that my DS says "Boobies" every time I walk in the room.

Shakey1500 · 21/07/2013 21:28

Thanks all Thanks

I measure 35 and a half around the bust. I'm 5ft 1ish and a size 10 though my tum is more like a 12 recently

I will do the reverse band fastening tomorrow (bra is upstairs and DS only just nodding off!)

Oh bugger. Anyone want a 36c balcony bra? Grin Wink

I reckon you're a 30E/F!
