Help please.I need the above for my new job :) (so exciting, not worked since being made redundant almost 2 years ago)

But I would like the best, most slimming, most fabulous version of a black suit with blue shirt known to humanity, it's that pale workwear type of blue iykwim.

Will be working 3 consecutive days, so will need three shirts.
Am a size 14, 34GG and 5ft 6'

All help appreciated.

Trouser or skirt suit?

is the blue too deep?

TerraNotSoFirma · 16/07/2013 20:26

Either trouser or skirt.

The blue is too deep, but great minds think alike as I was just looking for a shirt on the pepperberry website :)

The blue is that pale "man in banking" type of blue.

Oh heck, yes, and budget?

TBH if the pepperberry one is wrong it'd be best to good with a good cotton shirts that fir well at the best, then have them altered to fit properly to the waist. Properly fitting blouse (and bra, of course) is essential.

You don't say what your budget is.
Top tip for the suit is to buy a skirt that skims perfectly at your fattest bit and then get the other bits taken in.

I swear by Jigsaw for good wool suits if you can afford their prices - they don't seem to have any black in your size in the sale unfortunately.

TerraNotSoFirma · 16/07/2013 20:30

Budget somewhere between m&s and the Hobbs sale :)

Yes thinking will maybe need size 18 shirts and have them taken in at the sides, darting is is it called?

Lewins are probably the easiest place to get work shirts (do not be fooled by their perma-sale though - it's a con, and nobody in the history of the world has ever paid the RRP for a Lewins shirt.

TerraNotSoFirma · 16/07/2013 21:39

3 blue Lewin shirts purchased. :)

I would ideally like the suit jacket to be collarless and no buttons, one of those unseen hook and eye fastening jobs.

Can find any jackets I like. :(

I haven't seen a jacket like that for years I'm afraid. Also, how would it interact with your shirt collars? (Assuming they have conventional collars)
