Art gallery date - what to wear?

Help please S&B folks. I have a first date tomorrow night . He is a photographer and we are going to a private gallery thing of one his friends.

I have no idea what to wear? I will be coming straight from work although I could feasibly change and it is so hot that wearing anything feels like a chore!

I am generally in smart dresses although was thinking maybe crop trousers and heels?

I am 5'7" size 12 TIA

Crop trousers and heels sounds lovely. Usually, there a mix of styles. Smart, casual, (artfully) scruffy so I don't think you can go wrong really. Well, sharp power suit might not work....
I'm imagining a silk vest in a bright colour on top, you can be quite bold I think.
If memory serves me right (its been a long time since I dated) be yourself, comfortable, etc is key so you have that covered too.

Make sure your heels aren't too loud on hard floors!

If you go for the black crop trousers just wear a white top. I like the one spacegoat suggested.

Going black and white looks artfully good at a photography show.

You could add a chunky coloured (in one colour), necklace or bangle.
If not, something very simple and silver.

I like those fc tops. I will have a little look at lunchtime.

I am top heavy so tend to need a bit of structure "up top" or I just look bulky. would love to do parisien chic and gamine, but just not a sweaty mess will be good!
