I am completely out of touch.

Leggings and dresses still ok?

Leggings and dresses seems to still be very popular. I like maxi dresses/skirts or shorter skirts and a vest top at the moment. Otherwise it is skinny or straight jeans with t-shirts, jumpers, shirts.

It's usually a bit weather-dependent! On normal days (not especially cold or hot), I wear skinny jeans, a variety of tops, ankle boots/ballet pumps/sandals, Chanel-style edge-to-edge jacket or biker jacket, and scarf of some sort. In this hot weather, I'm wearing maxi skirt plus vest top, or floaty silk print trousers with fitted T-shirt. Or white skinny jeans with summer dress over them. In winter it's skinny jeans & jumper, parka or big fake fur coat. Or dress, cardigan, coloured tights, boots, big scarf.

Loads of people are still wearing leggings and dresses, I see it all the time when I'm in town. I prefer tights with dresses personally (or bare legs in this weather). But leggings are fine - maybe try footless tights if you don't like the thickness of leggings, or the seams, or how baggy the knees eventually go.

I'm considering going back to the floaty maxi skirt, wasnt sure what sort of top to wear. Too ++++ to wear vest top out and about without a cardi on, but tunic type top over maxi skirt looks a bit xmas tree shaped.

Try a slouchy, drapey t shirt tucked in, like this or this. The H&M slouchy ts are lovely.

Whats a slouchy tee shirt look like?
