A skirt for an apple?

I really struggle with skirts in the summer. For the evening I wear a wrap dress or a dress from wallis which are quite flattering, but skirts and shorts just don't suit me. My waist is very high but I have a.fat belly and c/section/hysterectomy overhang. Any ideas or shall I steer clear?

Skirts, shorts and trousers don't suit me either, I punish them by refusing to wear them. Fuckers.

Dresses are much more flattering.

im the same even now after substantial weight loss my tummy is still my widest point. I stick to dresses.

I did wear shorts this weekend and a skirt but had long tops on to disguise the fact that my belly was quite squashed. the only ones that have worked remotely well are long maxi types balanced out with vest tops in this weather.
