Is there a facial sunscreen/product with spf that doesnt cause spots? The ones I've used have made a mess of my skin and I'm fed up!

I have Ultrasun Face SPF30 and an Elizabeth Arden SPF 50 face cream, and both have brought me out in spots. Not massive cystic ones, not even really red ones, but tiny little ones just just under the skin that I can kind of squeeze a little bit of white pus out of. Sorry, grim I know. It's like whenever I use a facial sunscreen it stops my skin breathing and congests it, this always seems to happen! And it makes me so angry as its only because I'm trying to look after my skin that I'm using the sunscreen anyway! Angry

I have slathered on Effaclar Duo to hopefully help my mess of a face but has anyone found a facial sunscreen that is any good? Is the La Roche Posay one good?

I'm 25 and know that SPF is the best thing I can do to look after my skin long term but if every sunscreen is going to give me such crappy skin and make me feel like a teenager again I will ditch the SPF and risk the wrinkles Sad

Same problem here.

La Roche posay both the matt one and the tinted one have brought me out in massive cystic welts!! Yuk.

I dont suffer from acne but rosacea ad normally never have any spots just redness.

My best one is the Green People childrens mineral sunscreen. It's light and factor 25 and water resistant with no nasties. It's about the only one I can use. Many of the other makes my face redder and itchy (boots and ultrasun, I am looking at you!)

I tried to buy Clinique City Block at Morleys in Brixton yesterday and was also told they were out of stock. I'm afraid I might have been a little bit snippy about that as I'd made a special journey for it.

I use LRP or this one from Jan Marini which I got as part of a set when I had a series of peels. You can buy it much cheaper on ebay!

Thank you everyone for all your suggestions. Everyone seems to have different reactions to different products so I'm unsure what to go for!

However I was watching QVC this morning and they were showing this:

I use the foundation already and it doesn't give me spots so I wonder if this would be good for me.

I'm 27 and use sunscreens by JASON as all others bring out my eczema and spots. I recently bought their Pure Natural Anti-Wrinkle Day Lotion SPF 30 and it feels lovely :)

I have this problem with practically all suncream, but recently found Boots Soltan Invisible spray sunscreen. Not only does it stop me from burning (including all day out in the sun at Olympic Park watching Mumford & Sons, at the start of this heatwave), but it actually makes my skin look more even and moisturised during and after use! I do blot my face with tissue before applying make-up, just to keep it in place.

You just need to spray a little onto your hands and pat it onto your face, so it lasts for a very long time and is a bargain for £6ish.
