Need some new summery colours, don't know where to start! I was thinking of a coral-ly colour. What makes are good, I've heard people talk about Opi...?

Rimmel Pro is cheaper and just as good. They have a coral.

OPI and Essie good.

goodasitgets · 12/07/2013 07:37

The Barry m gelly ones are good, v shiny and bright colours

Keztrel · 12/07/2013 08:49

Essie cute as a button is a lovely coral. You can get it in boots or superdrug :)

bigTillyMint · 12/07/2013 08:53

OPI is really good - just got two new ones. The I'm not really a waitress is quite corally. Get the base/top coat too - it really makes it last much better.

MrsFlorrick · 12/07/2013 09:36

Keztrel. You beat me to it! Grin

Very much sGrincond Essie Cute as a Button for a lovely corally shade.

Boots have an offer on Essie. Buy one get one half price. Not all their stores stock it.

If you are after nail polish with fewer chemicals then I recommend Zoya. I have quite a few of theirs. They really last. Possible a day or two longer than Essie. But you can only buy online or in Planet Organic (I think).

Vibbe · 12/07/2013 09:55

I agree with Essie cute as a button. I'm however not so keen on the quality - it peels off very quickly on me.

Dior and Guerlain make nice nail polishes, Dior has a summer collection out now which has 4 amazing colours (capeline, creoles, tie&dye and sunnies). Guerlain 143 Nahema is a bright coral, more orange than pink - and it's so pretty!

There's also Chanel Starlet, which is a warm coral/peach colour. I think it's a limited edition and it's from the spring collection, so you might need to be quick to get this one before it's gone.

Barry M is excellent if you want something budget. They have some pale blues and purples which I would never usually choose but they actually look fab on my tanned slightly less white than a corpse hands

noddyholder · 12/07/2013 10:08

Revlon Siren is gorgeous

MrsFlorrick · 12/07/2013 10:34

If you want Essie to last you need to use both their base and top coats otherwise it peels in a couple of days. With base and top coat it will last about a week or 5 days at least if like me you have active toddlers and busy hands.

GobblersKnob · 12/07/2013 10:39

I don't use Essie base or top coat (it is not 3 free, though their polishes are) I use a-england top and base and have no problem with peeling.

Few very cheap Essie colours here

And loads of cheap Opi

Keztrel · 12/07/2013 10:39

Revlon One Perfect Coral is great too. Its a perfect very bright mix of red and orange.

Leviticus · 12/07/2013 10:45

I bought Essie's Sunday Funday limited edition one yesterday. It's a light shimmery almost apricot coral - very pretty!

Keztrel · 12/07/2013 10:46

I don't actually suit corals or warm summery pinks because I'm pale and tanless even in summer. Essie splash of grenadine is utterly gorgeous for cool toned people who still want to look bright and summery.

Leviticus · 12/07/2013 10:51

Just noticed you said colours.

Essie's Watermelon is the perfect pink for summer.

Keztrel · 12/07/2013 17:30

Watermelon looks gorgeous, I need it!

Ujjayi · 13/07/2013 15:13

Essie Madison Ave Hue is perfect summer pink. I also like L'Oreal Lush Tangerine. I use CND top coat (for both base & top) and mani/pedi will last a week.

Dancergirl · 14/07/2013 09:08

Some of those Essie colours are lovely, just a bit worried about their quality....

Iatemyskinnyperson · 14/07/2013 09:20

Gosh, that's odd that essie doesn't last for some. It's the only brand that lasts for me! All the others peel right off within a day or 2, base coat or no. Essie lasts really well for me & looks the best... Smooth & glossy, almost gel-like

Erato · 14/07/2013 09:31

What about a turquoise? e.g. Zoya Josie? China Glaze also make great polishes - For Audrey is a lovely turquoise. If you want something a bit more classic like a coral what about Nails Inc Wellington Square?

I have lots of Essie polishes - the quality is fine if you use a good top & base coat (I like Nubar Foundation and China Glaze Fast Forward).

AlwaysSleepingBeauty · 14/07/2013 16:34

I find Essie quality to be great, I have just painted my toes in Mojito Madness, which is lovely on pale skin. I also love OPI and Chanel.

bunnymother · 14/07/2013 16:38

The Maybelline gel nail polishes are cheap and are the only ones I use now, as they last almost a week without chipping or peeling. Nothing else lasts beyond couple of days on my hands.

BringMeTea · 14/07/2013 18:45

Barry M very good. Dior also. Chanel not so much. But. Someone on here recommended Primark's nail blush as a cheap version of Dior's nail glow and it is fab. Makes nails a natural looking healthy pink. Better than Dior's at 2.50 v 18 quid. Have bought it for all my friends.

Keztrel · 14/07/2013 19:25

I also find Essie really lasts, esp with nails inc Albert bridge topcoat (best topcoat ever. I paint my nails on a Friday and they last all week with zero chips - I do have short nails though which helps it last).

MrsDoomsPatterson · 14/07/2013 19:32

Check out the nails inc neon colours. Such great colours to go with a tan

hollyisalovelyname · 15/07/2013 01:11

I prefer OPIto Essie. I find Essie very 'watery'
