Help me find something beautiful to treat myself!

I have some money to spend after graduating - a few people have given me cash and I really want to treat myself to something lovely. I was going to spend it on furniture for our new house but I think maybe I should have something nice for myself since its a one off. If I don't spend it soon it will end up going on petrol and groceries!

If you had £500 to spend what would you get?

I am thinking shoes but open to suggestions!

I'm happy to split the cash between some cheaper things or add a little more money if I find something I really love.

Well I was thinking of combining graduation (congratulations) with house and suggestibg simething like a really nice clock, maybe an antique?

Thank you Smile

That is a nice idea actually, I hadn't thought of a clock but now you've put the idea in my head I'm googling! New house has a big hallway so would be nice to have a feature.

Ooh, I would love a Grandfather clock, with a tick. Big hallway suggests that to me immediately.

My folks bought me a small gold ring as a gift for graduation & still wearing it 20yrs later. I'd pick jewellery as a keepsake, even something very small/personal; bling love

Yes think something I can keep is a good idea. I would like it to be something I would still have in years to come.

I was going to suggest a classic handbag, like a Mulberry that you'd keep forever - but a clock is a randomly really lovely idea. The passing of time and all that. You'd never regret that I don't think.

cerealqueen · 11/07/2013 23:19

A framed print/ picture you will enjoy looking at? Or even original art!

therumoursaretrue · 11/07/2013 23:57

Isn't it Amazinggg! I was actually thinking along the lines of a Mullberry or a pair of Loubs but I love the clock idea too.

Cereal that is a good idea too, there is a local artist I really like. Wanted one of his prints for my birthday but I could stretch to an original with this money.

Murraylover I am coveting everything on the Tiffany website now thanks to you Wink

I usually try to avoid it because I know what I'm like!

IMO, Mulberry is not as good quality as it used to be.
So don't expect it to last for more than a couple of years.

I'd go for jewelry, like tiffany, Georg Jensen or other quality brands (not costume jewelry or gold-plated silver) or a nice watch.

AwkwardSquad · 12/07/2013 05:01

I'd go for jewellery too, probably a ring. I want a Diana Porter ring!

And congratulations btw!
