Please help i have a big family occasion coming up and im dreading it. Im size 20 and really uhappy about my weight. I know i cant do alot with 2 weeks to go but what are your secrets. How do i feel more confident and look stylish at this size. l just want to feel good on the day, im booked in for a trim and blowdry the day before but not sure about everthing else . I do have a few nice bits of clothing, but i know its mainly the lack of self belief and general anxiaty that will be the biggest hurdle. please any tips and hints would be great

Butter think grooming grooming grooming to start off. You're whole look will be polished.
Blow dry is a great idea.
Wear discrete make up and do your nails . look here for ideas I love her .
Outfit wise.....don't hide in black. I would get a plain coloured maxi dress and go for some bright accessories and a statement necklace.
What's your budget? Colours?

Ooh and a bit of fake tan will do wonders for your onfidence....but don't go too heavy.

Ooh thankyou, the lisa eldridge makeup tips look great. i will go for black bottom half i think but will look for a coloured top. i dont want to look frumpy though, im only 39. I have a couple of maxi dresses but feel i look like the arse end of a bus to be honest Smile

Nice nails (feet as well if wearing sandals) not necessarily painted if that's not your thing, but filed.

If wearing sandals then get rid if any dry/hard/cracked skin if you have it.

Consider getting your eyebrows shaped, either waxed or threaded.

Good accessories can lift any outfit. Whatever your size you can always get really nice shoes, handbag and jewellery.

Believe in yourself and smile!

Yes I agree with QueenC walk tall, smile, try to enjoy yourself....it's infectious and above all DON'T say anything like " ooooh you all look so gorgeous......" Think " I look bloody gorgeous!"

Agree with Drywhite about what you say - don't apologise for how you look. Tell other people they look fab and say thank you with a big smile to any compliments.

Remember people will be mostly looking at you from the chest up so shiny, done hair, sparkly earrings, nice makeup and a big smile Smile

A long time ago an old school friend told me to make sure I made the best of myself, as 99% of people don't. Take time with your hair, nails, skin etc, it will pay off!

Just thought, get decent underwear. A good bra takes pounds off. And having pretty (matching) knickers just help put the smile on your face.

Agree with eyebrows. Also get tinted. Use oil on your body. Gives it a lovely sheen

Also plan your clothes. I get work stuff out the afternoon before when I get home. Plan shoes pants jewellery. Someone said to me "it's as of you plan if so it goes "
Me " er.. Dur!"
