What to dress a nearly 5 month old boy in for a wedding reception?

Don't know if this should be in style either.

BIL and his lady are getting married abroad on Xmas eve but are having a reception when they get back.

Thing is what do I dress my new little baby in. If he was a she then I wouldn't think twice about it but it seems silly buying a little suit for an almost 5 month old. It must feel quite restricting for them but at the same time I don't want to stick him in a sleepsuit lol.

I've seen a lovely beige linen suit in Monsoon but I don't think I'll get something like that at that time of year.

Does anyone have any suggestions and places where to buy?

TIA

You could have a look at \link{http://www.cyrillus.com/on-line-sales/garment/babies.aspx?t=ccs&texte=169154&sh=new&action=13\Cyrillus}which always has smart and nice. Or you could just pick something up from BabyGap the week before and he would steal the show anyway.

CarolinaMoose · 05/06/2006 20:57

suits on babies are gross.

I agree with Bink - anything that's new-looking and co-ordinating will do just fine Smile.

cupcakes · 05/06/2006 20:59

I don't like babies in suits. I would get something babyish but smart like a knitted all in one or matching top and bottoms.

YellowFeathers · 05/06/2006 21:00

Well I did want to say suits aren't a good look on babies Grin

Thanks for the link Smile

Its probably the fact that it will be cold, baby will be still young and its a posh dooo thats throwing me. Not to mention I've never dressed a boy before Grin

I'd get a matching top and bottoms from somewhere like Petit Bateau. I've had a look on their website but it's too summery.

YellowFeathers · 05/06/2006 21:04

Petit Bateau!

That was the shop I was trying to think of. Thanks Cupcakes.

Bink, that site is lovely. Some gorgeous girls things.
If only I'd not gone mad on Pumpkin Patch!

Oh yes!

Theres a few things I like on there.

Your right about petit bateau. Not very much on there atm.

LadyCodofCOdford · 05/06/2006 21:52

YF i d get a little pari of trews form nexta dn a litel t shirt

Bozza · 05/06/2006 21:54

Personally I would go for dungarees (but not denim) and a co-ordinating top underneath. Love babies (of both sexes) in dungarees and they are practical and comfy for child especially if you get a body suit style top.

LadyCodofCOdford · 05/06/2006 21:55

yes adn dnungas good for hwne baby being passed around

FrannyandZooey · 05/06/2006 21:55

Presumably for an as yet unborn child as well cod! I think go for a more wintery version of cod's m&s dungarees link.
