Brightening brick, yay or nay?

So I'm craving Bobbi Brown pink brightening powder, which is a less sparkly version of a shimmer brick, and designed (I think) to be used as an all-over swish to make you look well rested. But it's £40!! And finances are a bit tight. Also I'm not too fond of sparkle, so I don't even know if I'd actually like it if I splurged!
Would love to hear from anyone who has tried it, or who has any more economical suggestions! Thanks.

How about MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in the colour Lightscapade? It's £22. You can find pictures and swatches online.

Asda Wink
They do a shimmer brick in different colours in their George makeup bit and its about £3 I think

Or for well tested glow and no sparkle, Lush Feeling Younger
Mix with foundation or dab under eyes and on cheekbones

Have you looked at Benefit Dandelion? I love it for this time of year, its not sparkly but it does give a very subtle (soft pink) glow thats very flattering. And a bit cheaper than Bobbi B's brick. Much cheaper again is MeMeMe's Blush Me- I have the Coral shade but they also do a pink one. I can see absolutely no difference between the quality of this product and the Benefit, tis lovely.

I'm craving that brightening brick as well! But where I live I can't see it so would have to just order it and take a chance, and its a bit expensive for that.

I've pulled bella bamba by Benefit out of a set I got at Christmas and I really like it. Just looking online it's the same idea as dandelion, except a bit pinker with a tiny bit of shimmer. Think dandelion might be nicer, I just had bella bamba to hand.
