Calling all gym bunnies...a cycling shorts question

About a year ago I shoe horned myself into a pair of cycling shorts, and, after the initial trauma I'm addicted as they are so comfy and cool for working out not general wear obv I spend on nice tops from Sweaty Betty but have saved on bottoms.

However, I have noticed that my 3 pairs getting a bit see through on the bottom not good and was wondering if this is:

Normal?
Because they're a cheap pair fom M and S?
Because they're at least 6 months old ?

If its just one of those things and they need replacing regularly that's fine.....if not, can you recommend some that don't go see through would prefer not to flash ladies behind me

Thanks

They're a year old, presumably each pair has been worn and washed at least 50 times if you work out several times a week. I reckon you've had your money's worth out of them!

Back in the days when I used to go to the gym/exercise classes 4 times a week, I used to wear 3/4 capri type workout bottoms - Nike mostly, some New Balance and one pair of Adidas. They all still look like new, no wear to them even after a couple of years of regular wear and they're not see-through - maybe the fabric is different? Are the M&S ones a cotton type fabric? Try some of the sport brands, Nike ones are good IMO - the prices are really good on Sweatshop, and there's a sale on at the moment.

I wear very thin cropped leggings under loose wrestling shorts for fitness/boxing/bjj class and they are cool as anything and so, so comfortable. Oh and surprisingly flattering! I look a hell of a lot better then the other ladies flashing their vaginas in skin tight pineapple dance pants.
Hmm
The leggings were about 2 quid from wherever and the shorts were from ebay.

I agree you've probably had your money's worth! I'd replace them sharpish.

I cycle a lot, and managed to wear through a pair of jeans once. Put it on and noticed two diagonal wear holes where it had been rubbing on the saddle. Blush

or just wear knickers the same colour as your shorts undermeayh to hwy a nit more wear out ot them.

I got a cheap pair from REI own brand and they are still going strong after 2 years, I wear them for running and cycling. Rotate them with a pair from Nike which are nowhere as good.

Hmm...I have 3 pairs of the M and S ones which I rotate but they do get hammered so I will investigate Nike and just replace them. Thanks everyone
