Help, my DM sandals are falling apart...is there anything similar out there?

I have big feet and I live in jeans so can't do girly or delicate footwear, sadly. I would just look terrible.

I've had a brilliant pair of DM sandals for several years now, never seen any like them, they are a sort of pretty shaped leather front bit with a back strap (essential) and buckles, much nicer than their fisherman style ones you see everywhere, and the sole is thinner so they arent heavy. They are purpley red. I love them.

now the stitching is finally going...I need something to replace them but can't find anything I like.

Does anyone understand the kind of thing I mean, or have the same problem - they have to be not 'girly', but not masculine either, and really strong construction, too. I don't want to look like a monk, but shoes are just tooooo hot at the moment.

DM = doc marten? They do sandals?! Hmm.. Have you tried any Birkenstocks? They do one with 2 front straps and a back strap, you could get a more unusual colour as they are a more masculine shape than the one strap ones. Timberland do white good sandals as well but a bit action man!

I have been scouring ebay and they are all little thin strappy things! Or huge chunky DMs.

I got some sandals from Millets, they are not flippy flappy. Maybe that style could work?

Also if it's just the stitching a cobbler could fix your DMs.

The Birkenstock website doesn't seem to be working for me but this type of thing has the backstrap without being too thick, If the website works for you there are loads of lovely colours on it! Mine have lasted about 5 years and I wear them all summer. They do come up very big though so you might need to try a size smaller.

I've realised there are a lot of fake websites as well - beware if anyone else is searching. The UK one has a proper 0800 number and an address in London. (I think) (and it wasn't working for me either at first but seems to be Ok now - thankyou so much!)

I do like the Odessa ones and also the Milano, and some of the others.

I can't decide though! Perhaps I need just to get these fixed (as Panzee suggested) and wait till tkmaxx has some in so I can try them on.

I'll ask if they can sew up the bit that has come undone. Is it just me that has so many shoes/boots etc but only one pair they really just wear constantly till they fall apart?

I have two pairs of shoes I wish I'd bought several pairs of at the time. :(

I got these off ebay, but they were new...someone, somewhere must have another pair lurking in the stock cupboard!
