Chronic telogen effluvium...when will it stop shedding? Success stories, please

I've posted variously on threads before...I had very very very low ferritin diagnosed at end of November 2012 after 6 months of hair shedding. I've since been taking ferrous fumerate; saw a dermatologist in May who said it was likely TE, even though one of my sisters uses Regaine for FPB (but has always had very, very thin hair and show through on scalp).

The change in my hair is still fairly unnoticeable to others, as I had a LOT of hair. But I notice it. Pony tail hold is totally different, the curls are lank and lots of frizzy bits everywhere.

And I still get hairs coming out when i run fingers through. Some days more than others, but still....

Ferritin levels had gone from 4 to 30 by March, but dermatologist says that they should be over 80 for healthy hair; although he also said there is some contention over whether iron has a big part to play in hair health

MY POINT IS: when will it stop falling? And what if it doesn't? What if it develops into FPB?

I find it all so depressing and wonder whether I'll ever get back the 20-25% of hair I've lost.
