Dp graduates next week and I havent clue what to wear. I need something on a budget, I am nearly 40 and have a good figure so can pull off most styles. Thank you

what about a brightly coloured shift dress? House of Fraser has lots of them from various brands

Something like this perhaps? www.houseoffraser.co.uk/Linea+Ruched+waist+dress/182590202,default,pd.html

I attended my son's graduation earlier this year and the dress code seems to be "nice dress" no-one was dressed up to the nines, certainly not as smart as typical wedding. Some of the mothers wore cardigans, a few wore jackets and some had a shawl or pashmina. I'd suggest you buy whatever suits you best for other things you are going to during the summer as there will be a wide variety of looks at the graduation (DH and DS2 wore suit and tie but there were a few grandfather types in socks and sandals, with cardis!)

Thank you for your replies. I like the idea of a shift dress
