How to make my hair shiny?

I've got just-past-shoulder-length, v thick blonde hair. It sits straightish after it's been washed but it's just looking really dull just now. I've been using the John Frieda Blonde shampoo & conditioner. How can I make it look really healthy and super shiny? I'm absolutely rubbish at looking after my hair so any advice much appreciated!

Don't use any products with silicone in them (drying) and rinse periodically in something mildly acidic (diluted vinegar, diluted beer, lemon juice etc) - most hair care products are alkaline and a residue builds up over time, the mild acid helps to remove it. Or buy a clarifying shampoo/conditioner and use that about once a week.

Scrub your scalp well.

After washing wrap in a towel for ages. Brush through and spread serum on lengths. Make sure you angle your hairdryer downwards so the hair dries down, rather than drying roughly. If you straighten, use a shine spray before straighteners. Add a touch more serum if you need it

Toni and guy serum I liked. They are all much of a muchness really. They have those Moroccan oil ones too - I actually really like the Primark one and it smells amazing! Little brown bottle and turquoise lid.
Put a few drops on your palms and rub all over your hands then run your hands through your hair, smoothing it a bit.

wash your hair twice with shampoo then use conditioner but don't put it on your roots, wash it off with warm water, then pour cold water over your hair. Then dry and style as normal

Brazilian blow dry.

I rate Argan Oil over serum. Avon one is lovely but I also got a nice one from amazon. My sister uses the proper Moroccan oil and her hair is always v shiny

Hmmm how do you know if a product has silicone in it? Confused

This makes my fine hair really shine - Squirt one or two pumps onto your hands and wipe over your hair. Don't be tempted to squirt directly onto hair or you will look like you work in a chip shop! Quite pricey but lasts forever.
