Outfit for 4 year old boy for wedding?

Northerner · 04/06/2006 11:24

We have 2 weddings this year so I need an outfit for my 4 year old ds. I hate suits on little boys so it can't be a suit, ideally I'd like a smart pair of light coloured trousers and a nice shirt.

Have searched major high street stores and can't see anything I like. Also, what should he wear on his feet? I've just bought him a new pair of trainers and was hoping to get away with these and a pair of doodles for summer as he'll need schol shoes in Sept, but he can hardly wear these to a wedding. Don't want to spend too much on the shoes.

Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks

been searching for you northerner but haven't found anything specific worth linking to! Shock I would tend to go with the light coloured trousers and shirt maybe with a pair of little brown sandals? You can get nice leather ones in asda quite cheap and he will hardly wear them anyway!

Have you tried Monsoon? Vertbaudet?

sparklemagic · 04/06/2006 12:39

Monsoon do some lovely summer shirts, grandad collar style linen-y type ones which look lovely....I know they do light coloured trousers too. This sort of casual look would go well with some more casual shoes I think - I got my DS some doodles which are a sort of greeny brown baseball boot style. These would be good for the summer as well as the occasion!

We're going to a wedding in Sept for which I got my DS a jacket and trousers from debenhams (Jasper conran range) the trousers are sort of beigey and the jacket is a casual style with zip, dark brown; I'll put him in one of those white casual shirts from monsoon - sorted!

Northener.....did you get your ds an outfit?

We are off to 2 weddings this year and i have a 4yr old ds and an 18m ds.

I searched everywhere for something and in the end found a lovely outfit in OKAIDI in Mothercare. It is a french range and the clothes are a bit more expensive but lovely. I bought them beige linen shorts and a stripey shirt. The whole outfit cost £22.

Am now waiting for the Monsoon sale to see if the waistcoats are reduced as they would look cute too!!
