Can anyone find me a BRIGHT coloured but smart handbag?

Have been looking for ages. I like quite classic bags, but in a bright colour, cherry red, emerald green, electric blue would all be perfect. However I'm a fussy so & so

It needs

  • to be leather
  • Max about £170
  • Be a bag which goes on my shoulder and fits under my arm, so satchels, though I love the look, are out

To give an idea of my taste like but colour too dull, out of stock, also out of stock. my current bag is a vintagey mustard yellow frame bag which I love but the clasp has broken :(

Cannot find anything in stock that I like anywhere. Surely it must exist?

These are lovely, though may be too small for you.

Jelloonsprings · 03/07/2013 14:19

They are gorgeous, but yes too small, and I can't wear cross body bags, sadly, they make me look like a sack of spuds (entirely down to the bag, Oh yes)

I have this, and love it.

Oooh I really like that. Will venture to a real shop to have a peer at it in person but it looks great. Thank you :)

Do you have a TK Maxx nearby? I've just got a bag there by Jane Shilton. It's patent mustardy yellow and I love it. They also had them in electric blue and orange. RRP was £79 but mine was less than half price. It's a shoulder bag but with handles so you could carry it too. I can't do flipping links.

I keep looking in tacky macks, no luck so far, but one of my friends always finds great stuff there. Grrrr Smile

How about Kate Spade bags? They are beautifully made. Ihave a couple albeit mine were from an outlet store in the US but she does beautiful bright bags. I nearly bought a bright purple but chickened out and bought one that would go with more for me. I'm not sure if you can buy them anywhere here or if the website ships to the UK but there are some on EBay which are very reasonable.

The Kate Spade bags are gorgeous as well - thank you so much - will add those to my shopping trip Grin

Have you checked the modalu website? They have quite a good sale on st the moment and I am trying really hard not to spend!

How about one of these: www.cambridgesatchel.com/
You can probably adjust the strap so it's not cross body if you don't want that.

Personally, I love this: www.selfridges.com/en/Bags/Categories/Shop-Women/Totes/Essential-leather-tote_528-10005-042117213450000/?previewAttribute=Coral+pebble
But it might not be the shape you want..
