All that "capsule wardrobe" malarkey - going on hols and I always, always pack too much!

Without fail. Can't do the capsule wardrobe thingy. I'm too obsessed with "running out of stuff" Grin

So how does this sound for a two week holiday (hot weather)?

3 x maxi dresses
3 x light trousers
5 x t-shirts
2 x light cotton skirts
7 x knickers and 4 x bras.
2 x light cardis
4 x shoes
... Not to mention toiletries etc. - we can get laundry done but I only want to do that once or twice

Is that too much/not enough/just right.

Have you planned outfits? That's the key. Plan enough outfits for number of days, and make sure tops and bottoms are mix and match-able.

Crutchlow35 · 03/07/2013 13:51

is this for 1 or 2 weeks. You won't need 4 bras. You wear one and have one washed and ready.

4 shoes? Wear a pair of ballet flats and take a pair of flip flops.

Thanks for replies.

I do have mix and match able tops etc.

It's for two weeks.

Ballet flats and flip flops are not going to be enough - we will be walking on some roughish terrain (cobbles at ancient sites and suchlike) so good walking shoes were recommended.

I was taking two pairs of walking shoes and two pairs of sandals (smart and casual). I could probably just take one pair of walkers. Smile

Depends where you're going and temperature as well. I find anything 25+ and I'm basically in swimmers or vest and shorts, and never wear anything heavier as it makes me too hot and sweaty. If it's going to be hot, I can't imagine wearing trousers or maxi dresses (maybe have one for "nice"). No shorts? Only 1 cardie as long as goes with everything. I'd take more Ts, vests and shorts, and lose the long sleeved/legged things personally.

Salmotrutta · 03/07/2013 17:11

Thing is carrie that being in my 50s I really don't do shorts nowadays.

The maxis are actually quite cool to wear - I've worn similar in very hot places and the trousers are linen so also pretty cool.

I don't like inflicting my 50+ flesh on others! Grin

Ah, OK. I'm sure you'd still look stunning in shorts (and who know you on holiday anyway Grin). But if you're more comfortable in longer lengths, then yes, linen will be fab, plus floaty kind of stuff. Sounds like you've got it nailed. Have an amazing time!

Thank you carrie - can't wait actually!
