Whoop whoop I got a job!!! I start in 2 weeks so I need to start thinking about my mornings and how I can swiftly get myself ready to leave by 8am.

I am a nurse so really don't want to wear a lot of makeup but would like to appear fresh faced and a little effort made IYSWIM. I am 42, fair freckly complexion and slightly over weight

Any advice?

I'd go for:
Tinted moisturiser/bb/cc cream or foundation, depending on how much coverage you want.
Curl lashes and use mascara
Liquid blush, like the ones from Daniel Sandler last all day.
Lip product of your choice - gloss, balm, lipstick, or nothing.

If you tend to get shiny during the day, get a pressed powder to touch up when you can. Alternatively see if you can find a primer that will help absorb the excess oil.

How about thinking about what makes you feel good and how long things take? For example I think my hair, short bob, is one of my best features and takes 5 minutes to dry, so this is my priority.

Big congratulations on your new post

Congratulations on your new job!

How much make up are you 'allowed' to wear?

Can you get your eyelashes and brows tinted - I do nowadays, it makes a real difference without having to bother with anything else.

Am not much of a make up wearer though. I find that eye make up runs and makes my eyes sore, particularly after a full day.

There are no definite rules but I would just go for the "natural" look anyway. Eyelash tint is a great idea although my eyelashes are a little stumpy.

Mine aren't long either, but it does darken them just enough to stop me looking so bland.

The eyebrows were a revelation actually. That really defines your eyes and face.
