Layered or blunt hair cut for mid-long hair?

I need a hair cut but have fine hair and assume a blunt cut will give me more thickness at the ends.

But I have searched high and low for a definitive answer and can't find it.

Some people say layered hair makes it look thicker and fuller, and others say no to layers and to go blunt.

What do you say?

Haircut tomorrow...... Watching.

I have fine hair and loads of it so, blunt looks like a pudding basin on my head.... Worried if I go layered, it'll look thing and wispy. It's jaw length at the moment but growing it.

I have fine hair (although lots of it!) and have recently gone for layers after years of a blunt cut. I'm really pleased with it - it's made it look thicker and 'bouncier' as there's now not so much weight and length dragging it down.

Blunt works best for me. Have had layers before - looked great at the hairdressers but hair went flat too quickly after a few hours. The less hair I have the thinner it looks.

The problem with blunt is that it can look frumpy so make sure its styled nicely e.g <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=0.tqn.com/d/beauty/1/0/2/1/1/Alexandra_von_furstenberg.jpg&imgrefurl=beauty.about.com/od/photosmediumhairstyles/ss/medium_4.htm&h=1793&w=1427&sz=156&tbnid=KrFWqbGz3tYSfM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=72&zoom=1&usg=__w0j_JaN6J6PlX8vl4qQDN7fzw7Q=&docid=hi09zyx0qPI-ZM&sa=X&ei=GuLTUe3vJaOM7QaWzIH4BA&ved=0CDMQ9QEwAA&dur=21" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"> lovely stylish blunt haircut

Keep the layers long - gives it a bit of body around the bottom, but avoids straggliness/wispiness

agree with keeping the layers long. I've always had long or mid-long length straight hair so got bored with it. Don't suit a fringe or short styles at all.

so long layers at the back have really helped my fine hair look like it's got more oomph. nice to have a bit of body than lank long hair!

if you can find a nice blunt style that suits you then go for it though, if it doesn't work out its easy to get long layers Grin
