High waist pants and bra set

Anybody seen any nice sets with high waist? I want my belly button to be covered. Must be ultra modern and not grannyish so I think that's M&S out. This is a treat so should be good quality and I may need to get measured in bust as its been a while. Think I'm 38B and 12/14 pants but not exactly sure!

Should be a colour that can be bunged in a colour £40 wash with everything else :-)

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Sorry that was a 40 degree wash. Not a 40£ wash ;-)

Freya? Figleaves had a few in the sale I was just looking at, seemed pretty, no idea what sizes they had though!

SorrelForbes · 02/07/2013 13:56

I'm sorry, I can't help myself Blush. Are you sure you're a 38B? Try measuring yourself according to the guidance here.

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/07/2013 15:02

sorrel you beat me to it. op, with 12/14 size bottoms I very much doubt you are a true 38... If your previous measuring or fitting involved m and s its probably more like a 32ff

SnoopyLovesYou · 02/07/2013 15:39

Thanks for that. Yes actually my current bras are 36B now that I look. Think def need measured!
Now, the classic question is where do I go? Debenhams?

I'll maybe measure myself if I find my measuring tape...

Go to be measured at Bravissimo if you have one nearby or House of Fraser or John Lewis. If you can't get to any of those places, measure yourself, there's a guide on the bra thread. Debenhams are no better than M&S for measuring in my experience, they put me in a 36A and I'm actually a 34G!

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/07/2013 15:41

measure according to the guide unless you have a bravissimo, , leia or rigby and peller to go to. Most shops still do a silly old method.

SnoopyLovesYou · 02/07/2013 16:06

Oh I can go to a House of Fraser thanks

ThEre are some lovely Gok Wan high waisted sets in the simply be sale :)

makescakeswhenstressed · 02/07/2013 16:12

a) Bravissimo are great for undies as well as measuring

b) don't ever bung nice undies in at 40 degrees if you want then to look nice for any length of time. Try a hand wash cycle in your machine if you cba to actually, you know, hand wash Grin

StatisticallyChallenged · 02/07/2013 17:04

I'm afraid house of fraser fitting is hit and miss so maybe measure before hand so you have an idea of size

SnoopyLovesYou · 02/07/2013 20:05

I don't know where Gok Wan gets his models from. It's exactly the look I'm not going for ;-)

Get yourself measured properly, and then figleaves have the option to pick a bra size, pants size, and then choose high waisted bottoms. They had about 10 sets when I just looked for my sizes.
How much are you prepared to spend?

SnoopyLovesYou · 03/07/2013 11:43

The figleaves ones are nice!

Not sure yet how much I'm prepared to spend. Just shopping around for the moment. As little as possible!

Oh I love a good potential bra measuring thread.

If you have a measuring tape handy so it according to the instructions! Is amazing Smile

CakesAreNotTheAnswer · 03/07/2013 13:13

Yes. Good point. Are you sure you're a 38B ?

SnoopyLovesYou · 03/07/2013 19:00

My last bras are 36B (M&S 2 years ago!)

OP posts:
OrangeLily · 03/07/2013 19:04

Snoopy please please follow the measuring instructions... Bet you're not a 38b! That would be unusual given your dress size.

CakesAreNotTheAnswer · 03/07/2013 19:07

You could measure yourself and we'll tell you what size you are. ..

measure quite firmly around your ribs just under bust. Now lean forward so your boobs hang down and measure around the largest (lowest) part of your breasts.

Now give us both measurements and we will do magic Wink

sudointellectual · 03/07/2013 19:20

Marks had me in a 38B. (I thought I was a 36B.) Turns out I'm a 32F. I had literally never known what a properly fitting bra felt like until last month. I didn't even hate my old bras...I just never knew what I was missing.

Do listen to these women! They know things!

SnoopyLovesYou · 04/07/2013 18:19

I will. Haven't come across my measuring tape :-)
