What to wear on lunch date in pissing rain?

Have a rare day off and am meeting friend for lunch. It's cold and chucking down. Outfit suggestions?

I'd be in trousers, ankle boots and a trench coat /mac with a blouse or cami/ cardi.

Thank you Missbo. I was just reading your reply thinking I don't have any ankle boots...but actually I do! They are heeled black ankle boots and I have not worn them during the day for about 2 years! (Did anyone else find they just completely stopped wearing heels by day once they had children?) I might just be brave enough to bust them out with some black superskinnies. :)
