I keep reading about these fragrances & am really interested in trying them. Apart from the At the Beach one though, it looks like I'll have to get some samples from Ebay first. I keep reading the reviews & they sound really fascinating. Has anyone tried them?

I've tried them and they are not for me. I found that they smelled interesting in the bottle, but then just went too linear and vague on my skin. I think I just don't like his way of doing it. Shame, because they always sounds amazing and should really be right up my street.

If you want to get samples you could try Diane at The Perfumed Court in the USA. I've been buying samples from her for years (am in UK) and she provides a great service. Be warned - she has STACKS of perfume, so you may get carried away Grin.

I think Liberty stocks them, if you are in London. (Check first, I might be wrong.)

Cardamom, Thank you. I'll have a look at that link. I'm not in London. I've been looking on the CB site tonight & apparently he's been thrown out of his premises & is asking people to sponsor him so he can get new premises. If you sponsor him for about 100 000 dollars, he'll make you your own personal perfume!

BTW, what about taxes? Do you get charged when they arrive?

Bloody hell!

Nope, never been charged taxes or duties or anything like that. She packs very securely - never had any breakages or leaks. All her stuff is genuine (I actually buy London exclusives for her and ship them over!).

I'm very tempted. Thank you very much for the link. How long do the parcels usually take to arrive? Many years ago I ordered from Strawberrynet.com & as it was over £17, I was charged about £12 + tax before I could collect if from the PO, so I thought I'd check first.

Hmmm. Maybe there could be local variations in how stringently the post office applies the rules. Was hoping I'd have an old jiffy bag from her lurking so I could see what she wrote on the customs sticker.
She undervalues on the form (it's probably accurate in terms of her costs, but not in terms of the price you pay, if you see what I mean) so that takes it down and usually under the threshold. And I seem to remember that she marks it 'samples' or 'gift'.

In any event, you are not buying something that, strictly speaking, is new - it's not a new bottle of perfume bought from a usual retailer. It's a sample that she has decanted into a vial. It's been pre-owned, so is second hand.

I really think you will be OK. But in case your Post Office is a more strict about things like this than mine, I wouldn't want to say so for definite.

As to how long - depends on how busy she is with orders. She often has special deals which are very popular, so then she gets a bit snowed under. 10 days? Plus or minus a bit?

Thanks a lot for your help. I'm having a good look through the site. I think I'll order some CB & some Serge Lutens.
