Could anyone help me find a summer dress for DD please?

First bona fide sunny day and all the summer dresses in her wardrobe are too short. She's got a bunch of casual slightly-too-short jersey numbers (mostly from charity shops) that will be fine for beach holiday later in the year, but she doesn't have anything a little bit smarter - I don't want party frocks, just something eversoslightly smart for meals out with GPs etc.

I'm out shopping this week, so looking for a nice sale bargain in age 10/11. Any suggestions please? No joy on the John Lewis website.

Thanks both of you.

Some of the Pumpkin Patch ones are possibles, but I hate online shopping so will probably stick with the Debenhams and House of Fraser options - HOF seem to have a wider range of rather nice Yumi brand dresses than JL had, I like the navy one above, and also this one

My DD is 9 and I don't think she would wear any of those, although I like most of them particularly the JL one -i think she woud find them a bit young. She is much happier in shorts or trousers ( and she is not a 'tomboy').she will wear playsuits as a compromise - have you looked at any of those? jL usually have nice ones

I know what you mean Ten, though I think she'd be OK with some of them. I'm sure there are some slightly more sophisticated dresses out there, she's got a couple of lovely ones that are a bit short - and HOF has some lovely Armani ones at a price that I am not prepared to contemplate, even in the sale. I think I may have to go non-sale because the too young ones are sold out in ages 4-8, and the more grown up ones are sold out in ages 9+ - hardly surprising.
