Above the knee (rather than thigh) dress?

I keep buying and returning dresses when I realise they are too short to wear without leggings.

Today I was really excited about a navy and white one from fat face but its actually above mid thigh so way too short (I am 5.9)

Any ideas? I would like one to wear either day time or for evenings out but with flip flops or possibly that I can dress up too.

I don't want to look frumpy and have it too long but just more dress than tunic!

I have recently bought a couple of wrap dresses from blue banana - they are quite smart (silky material) but fall just about the knee. They are nice and stretchy and flattering too :)

They have plain versions - but I got the red and purple of these

Thank you that is pretty. Unfortunately I seem to be the only person who looks bigger in a wrap dress ( I have big hips, tummy and thighs but small framed on top not sure if that's why) and I just always seem to look awful in them but I will google the make as the length would be ideal.

The one I bought and returned from fat face isn't online for some reason but it was similar to this , pretty but too short. fatface.com/dresses/lilah-hummingbird-print-dress/invt/42012?colour=Navy

I have the same problem!

Wore this www.next.co.uk/g3818s1#798253g38 to a garden party at the weekend with open toe wedges and got several compliments.

Next are quite good on length I find - but not that good for choice on more casual dresses

Thank you I actually tried a couple on at next yesterday and I agree, the length was good. I tried on a navy lace one and another similar to the one you linked. The fit was wrong though somehow and sort of cut me off in the wrong place, too much material on the waist, not enough on the thigh that sort of thing. A shame as I liked the lace one a lot and had high hopes! I also like uk.monsoon.co.uk/view/product/uk_catalog/mon_1,mon_1.2/3532390106 a lot and am wondering whether to buy it as an interview dress. This would be a total excuse as I want it for the pub, and for days when I want to look prettier than the normal jeans/denim skirt and blouse or t shirt that I normally wear. Feeling its a bit extravagant as I just bought new jeans and am job hunting but I may have to just nip to town and try it on, it will probably look dreadful as its not a style that usually suits me but I can tell I won't be able to leave it till I know!
