She's been invited to the 'second day lunch' of a wedding, in quite a posh venue and is panicking because she has nothing to wear. I'm going shopping with her next week, but we live in rural Brittany and it's difficult for her to find clothes here. She's apple shape, 5'2", nice legs, arms and decolltage (sp?), big boobs. She's about a size 20, depending on the cut. She's actually seen a dress she likes on John Lewis website (sorry, can't do link) but they only go up to size 18. Does anyone know how generous JL sizes are? Her budget is probably around £70. Any suggestions?

Thanks for coming back so quickly slug and fauxfox. Lots of really nice suggestions. She's 63, sorry, I should have said that.

I find much of Phase 8 very forgiving for the large of nork and round of belly.

Try esprit if you are in france. Free delivery and free returns so it's easy to order a size above or below if not sure. Sales started this week too :)

I did suggest Esprit, legohamster, but she doesn't think they do her size. There are stores near us so I'll get her into one, even if I have to say I'm looking for myself, and then we can see. She's out at the moment, can't wait to show her all the links. If we were in UK we'd be heading straight for the charity shops. I do miss them.
