How can I make my hair blonde?

I have medium brown hair. I really want blonde hair- a few years ago I tried bleaching it- never again!! I had hair which looked and felt like straw and huge angry sores all over my scalp!

I've just bought a hair dye which is 'medium natural blonde' and said it will turn medium brown hair to a dark blonde but it's a liar :(

I may as well have put just shampoo on my head.

So how can I go blonde?? I don't really have the money to get it coloured professionally :(

If you put an all over tint to lift your colour on you will get roots within a few weeks. It would be better to get professionally done highlights, going a few shade lighter than your own hair colour, then the roots will not be obvious when your hair grows.
It needn't be expensive, try model nights at a reputable salon.
