Where's a good shop for skirts?

I have pretty decent legs, but they're quite shapely so I prefer skirts to stop above my knee rather than at the widest part of my leg.

I haven't bought a skirt for years, can anyone recommend a decent shop or shops to have a look in?

I would check out ASOS online, Atterley Road and Cocosa.com unless you really want to shop IRL. My advice? Go to a department store with concessions like John Lewis, HoF and even Debenhams. You can try on loads of different brands then because each has its 'look'.

Depending upon your price bracket, look at Hobbs, Cos, Principles and John Rocha at Debenhams and at a lower price point New Look, River Island and Zara have plenty of 'Skater' styles which end above knee and have a flare out. Zara is great for fast interpretation of catwalk looks.

Thanks, I will look at some of those places.

I like skater style skirts, but it's been so windy lately I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to wear them..

I wear a lot of A line skirts to the knee or just above in heavier cottons or summer weight wools. Have a look at the Pinterest boards of the people who post on the MNVogue 14 thread. Lots of ideas there too.

The other option are the stretchy tube skirts to the knee or lower thigh that are everywhere at the moment. They actually suit all shapes according to what you wear with them. Longer length tops or cardigans can help with hips/bottoms if that is what you are self conscious of.

Thanks mignonette. I am apple shaped but quite slim so dont really have problem areas as such.

I do a lot of running though so my calves quite defined and i just dont like any length that stops on the calf as it gives the impression my legs are bigger than they are.

I dont do pinterest but i will do a google shopping search for a line skirts.

Check out the big sites like Asos and BrandAlley too. Loads of inspiration there. And come join us on MNVogue 14 thread xx

I love skirts. My favourite at the moment is a fat face skirt I got of e-bay. Lovely material and stops just above the knee.

Picture French? Smile

Good stuff on Ebay. I just sold some Katherine Hamnett on there that I bought years ago.
